The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) has selected the Métrica6 proposal as the winner for the 2030 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically for goal No. 11 Sustainable cities and communities.
Out of more than 10,000 initial submissions from companies around the world, only 25 have been selected as winners. The proposal of the ClimateTrade company and ours have been the only Spanish ones that have been victorious.
Our proposal is based on the application of our own technologies for the development of cyber-physical solutions (software and hardware) for water and energy saving. Specifically, it involves the application of technologies based on our NESS system to improve water efficiency in homes, cities and agricultural activities to contribute to savings and the environment.
Proposal
In addition to water, our proposal was accompanied by other recently developed systems to support local economies and tourism such as ANGel, the smart high-capacity hydroalcoholic gel dispenser, designed for establishments with a large traffic of customers, such as hotels, tourist buildings or shopping centers. Previously developed technologies were also included to complete our initiative (air quality control, urban mobility solutions, etc).
We are very grateful that our initiative, as well as the rest of the winners, have the international recognition and visibility they deserve for contributing to the creation of a better future for tourism and society. Having the support of an organization like UNWTO is a great honor for us and encourages us to continue growing and innovating despite the current economic situation.
The United Nations with its SDGs and initiatives aims to ambitiously pursue the eradication of poverty, protect the planet and guarantee that all the people of the world without distinction enjoy peace and prosperity.
